Putin orders nuclear submarines in a terrifying move for the military – “Strong and Sovereign” | World | news

The president spoke on a video call Monday and ordered the construction of two submarines. Putin said: “We will continue to increase the potential of the Russian Navy, expand its bases and infrastructure and equip it with the most modern weapons.

“A strong and sovereign Russia needs a strong and balanced navy.”

The submarines will be equipped with ballistic ICBMs.

Other newcomers are two diesel-powered submarines and two corvettes.

They are stationed at shipyards in Severodvinsk, St. Petersburg and Komsomolsk on the Amur.

The Tartarus naval base is the only site in Russia outside of the former Soviet Union.

“We will continue to fly the Russian flag in strategically important sea areas,” President Putin said on Monday.

“Many of our weapons have capabilities that are not available in the world, and some will remain unrivaled for a long time to come.”
