Akkuyu Nuclear Employees Participated in the ‘Sails of the Spirit’ Boat Race

Akkuyu Nuclear representatives, public institutions and the international crew of the “Sails of the Spirit” expedition organized a sailing race on two yachts, a garbage collection campaign and a concert.

During the sailing race, the crew of the “Sails of the Spirit” held workshops on yachts, in a dark setting, such as inclusive travel and knot-tying. Journalists and Akkuyu Nuclear employees attended these workshops. After the boat race held at the seaside in Taşucu district, a garbage collection campaign was organized for the race participants and residents.

In the evening of the same day, a concert was given to the residents of the region in the central square of Taşucu. In the concert, disabled contestants from countries such as Turkey, Latvia, Russia, Armenia, Nepal and Israel took the stage with music and dance performances. The program came to an end with a ceremony held for the awarding of the winners of the “Sails of the Spirit 2022” races.

This year, we organized the event together with the Tarsus Disabled Platform and the Russian White Stick Association. The Mediterranean part of the “Sails of the Spirit” expedition was carried out in Turkey between 8 and 22 October 2022 with the support of the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation Rosatom. In the Mediterranean, he organized a yacht tour covering the route Marmaris – Antalya – Taşucu – Marmaris and yacht trips at stops with the participation of local people, concerts, environmental events, inclusive workshops, sports events and excursions.
