Construction of the Arak IR20 reactor to start next year: legislators

According to the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency (AEOI), construction of the Arak IR20 reactor will begin next year (the one on Sunday’s 21st meeting with AEOI chief Mohammad Eslami in parliament.

Speaking at today’s meeting of the Parliament’s Energy Commission with the Head of AEOI Chief Mohammad Eslami, Nakhaei said: “Considering the industrial, professional, technical and specialized issues of the country’s nuclear industry and avoiding political and security views on the Iranian nuclear industry, technical and more specialized issues were emphasized. “

The head of the AIA also provided a comprehensive report on his organization’s objectives and programs with regard to the development of the nuclear industry.

The four main axes of the AIA objectives are the generation of power plant fuel, energy generation, the increase and diversification of radiation use and the implementation of research and development (R&D).

Nakhaei went on to say that the production of 8,000 MW of nuclear power and the production of power plant fuel show that the country’s nuclear industry is growing towards power generation.
