MJCET receives Indian patent for its project

Banjara Hills: The Indian government recently granted a patent for a project on the “biodiesel production process” at the Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) in Hyderabad.

To promote the R&D culture in college, Zafar Javeed Sahab, Secretary of SUES, has granted substantial R&D funding and has always sponsored research projects and their patenting. The project was registered for a patent in December 2019 and published in January 2020.

The Indian government has granted a patent number 372207 entitled “Process and System for Efficient Biodiesel Production”. This is the second utility model granted on behalf of MJCET. The first patent granted to MJCET was entitled “Solar Powered Spinning Wheel” with the patent number: 319528 on August 30, 2019 for a period of 20 years.

The patented project “Bio-Diesel Production Process” was carried out in different phases, starting with the production of biofuels from algae, then the production of biodiesel from used cooking oil, improvement of the extraction process to increase the yield with microwave and glass reactor, then automation of the biodiesel pilot plant in the Continuous process.

The project members were congratulated and appreciated by the secretary, SUES-Zafar Javeed. On this occasion the consultant and director MJCET- Dr. Basheer Ahmed and the registrar MJCET-KV Narshima Rao present.
