Ukraine and other former Soviet republics are proud countries. With all due respect, they are not places where we should send US troops to fight and die.

Can it really be at this point in time in 2021 that a large-scale war is possible again in Europe? Why do about 100,000 Russian troops gather near their country’s border with neighboring Ukraine – a country with which Russia shares a close history, religion, culture, and former membership in the Soviet Union? Most importantly, what can the United States and its allies do about the situation?
