New Nintendo Patent Reveals More About Zelda: BOTW 2 Gameplay – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild II

The Legend of Zelda fans are excited to learn more about the next installment in the saga, the sequel to Breath of The Wild. It has to be said, Nintendo remains fairly discreet with this entry planned for 2022. Nothing more has been given since the first gameplay trailer was released last June. However, some research we read focused on patents filed by the Japanese company and revealed plenty of and interesting information about the upcoming gameplay and especially the new mechanics.

In a first patent, published under number 20210370175 by the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), we discovered the conditions for achieving the ability to drive through a hanging platform from below to its surface, as we could observe in the trailer . It proves that it will be possible to carry out this action freely, and not at some point, as one might have feared.

Then the patent US20210370178 also addresses a mechanism that is already exposed in the trailer. Thanks to the video that Nintendo released this summer, the most observant people had noticed that Link would be given a new power, a kind of “rewind” function that can be applied to objects. We see from this patent that the object goes back in time in the reverse manner as it did when it last moved with a display of power by a meter. We can easily imagine that there will be tons of puzzles based on this in a style that fans of the show will love.

Last but not least, file number US20210370179 shows that free fall will be much more advanced than one would have expected. Our character will not only be able to take several positions, but will also be able to shoot with his bow in the meantime. More precisely, Link has the ability to fall backwards, but also to dive. This aerial aerobics is obviously inspired by the acrobatic performances of the parachutists, and the possibility of shooting with a bow, even in free fall, promises charismatic and exciting fights in the air.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 does not yet have an exact release date for Nintendo Switch (or even a final title). While you wait for new official information from Nintendo, we encourage you to watch the E3 2021 trailer again with the items discussed above.
