Nuclear Reactor Diagram: How China Leads the Nuclear Power Indictment | World | news

Nuclear power generation has declined as many countries have turned away from investing in renewable energy. But there are some parts of the world where nuclear energy programs are growing rapidly. Here is a look into the production of nuclear power around the world.

According to the World Nuclear Industry Status Report 2021, global nuclear power generation decreased by 3.9 percent in 2021.

In China, however, it rose by a substantial 4.4 percent.

China has the fastest growing nuclear energy program in the world and added two new reactors to its nuclear program last year alone.

It is expected that Japan will soon officially stop building new nuclear power plants.

Nuclear power has seen a slow decline from a peak of 17.5 percent of global electricity generation in 1996 to just 10.1 percent in 2020.

Most countries except China, Belarus and the United Arab Emirates are putting their programs on hold or giving up their nuclear programs entirely.
