Opening of the Blunt NextGen Building Tuesday, October 19 – Newstalk KZRG

For the first time, Missourians will see the inside of a $ 221 million building that is said to make the state $ 5 billion.

Roy Blunt’s NextGen Precision Health building will be the center of what is known as the NextGen Precision Health Initiative.

In short, it is a collaboration between the four UM systems universities in Columbia – St. Louis, Kansas City, S and T in Rolla, with healthcare and industry partners to research and develop innovative remedies and treatments.

It includes the most powerful research reactor (MURR) in the country and will work with industry leaders such as Cerner and Siemens.

Of course, Senator Blunt and top university system officials will be in Columbia on Tuesday, as will Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health.
