The family business NG Bailey is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2021 and has grown from its inception with 12 employees doing home electrical installations to a £ 600 million company with over 3,000 employees.

The company prides itself on its heritage and says it aims to live up to its values of Passion, Integrity and Excellence. Its success story includes:
- Support of the military in World War II
- Participation in the UK nuclear power program from the first reactor in Calder Hall in the 1950s to Hinkley Point C.
- M&E installation in Manchester Engineering Campus Development, one of the largest infrastructure programs of a UK university institute
- A longstanding relationship with the Department of Defense assisting BT in providing communications systems for key military bases
- Assisting the response to COVID-19, including major work on the UK’s NHS Nightingale Hospitals program
The CN Specialists Awards jury applauded NG Bailey’s “impressive 100-year track record”.
They added, “This company has adapted its strategy to meet the changing needs of the industry and is well positioned to meet the infrastructure needs of the green economy.”
They also highlighted its continued “strong focus on employee training and wellbeing”, calling it a deserved winner with a bright future.

Since it was founded in 1968, the expansion specialist Lucas has set itself the goal of being at the forefront of its industry. It was one of the first to adopt the ISO 9001 quality standard in the industry and achieved conformity in 1994 – one of the industry’s first websites was launched in the same year.
The judges praised the company and said they were “impressed with Lucas’ passion and commitment to innovation in his specialty”.
