Putin and Erdogan discuss building new nuclear power plants in Turkey

The presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussed the construction of new nuclear power plants in Turkey; Ankara has certain geographic locations that it is considering installing them, said Russian President’s spokesman Dmitri Peskvo, RIA Novosti reports.

“Yesterday we said that it was really a matter of creating a new industry. The issue of building new energy blocks was raised and the presidents talked about the possibility of continuing cooperation, ”Peskov told reporters when asked if Erdogan had spoken about the possibility of building new nuclear power plants in Turkey.

Putin and Erdogan had previously held talks in Sochi.
