Sellafield plans a £ 3 billion infrastructure delivery partnership

This will replace the current Infrastructure Services Alliance, with Morgan Sindall and Arup being used to run projects on the nuclear site.

Now Sellafield is starting a round of market engagement with contractors before bidding in April 2022.

Under the new agreement, Sellafield will appoint three strategic partners.

They provide front-end definition and project sequencing services, conduct feasibility studies, and perform an initial technical design.

The firms will also work on cost modeling to assist Sellafield Ltd with business case creation, startup and skills embedding in the business including knowledge transfer in Sellafield Ltd.

Three delivery partners

o Civil and General – Deliver work packages related to the road and rail network, pipe bridges and canals, excavation and general civil engineering work

o High Voltage Electricity – Providing work packages to improve the high voltage electricity distribution network, which includes distribution, generation and substations.

o Utilities – Deliver work packages related to the steam, water, chemical and compressed air networks and general mechanical work
