Uzbekistan and IAEA sign cooperation framework for five years

AKIPRESS.COM – Uzbekistan and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have signed a five-year cooperation framework.

The document identifies priority areas for the transfer of nuclear technology and resources for technical cooperation.

Construction of the first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan using Russian technology is scheduled to begin next year. The plant is to be built in 2030.

At the beginning of July, the International Atomic Energy Agency carried out a monitoring, examined the country’s potential and declared that Uzbekistan was ready to build a nuclear power plant.
